Right Achilles was hurting pretty bad throughout the warm-up and for about the first 2 miles. Felt strong the entire way, though. Started out in about 20th place out of about 100 runners. Moved up to about 14th at the 1-mile mark, then 9th place shortly after that. When we got to the big hill on eastbound Apache, the guys in front of me all seemed to struggle, so I moved into 5th place, and that's where we all stayed to the finish. First mile was flat, then constant up and down hills after that.
21:33, 5th place overall, out of 99 finishers. Very happy with this race, just frustrated that my Achilles was hurting so much.
