This run felt freakin' AWESOME! Temps started out @ about 32 and climbed to 55 by the end of the run.
I planned to run the first 6 at about a 9 pace, then the last 12 at about 8:40-8:50. Only GU I had was chocolate...with 2007 expiration, but it seemed ok. Took Gu and about 6 oz water at miles 6 & 12.
After first 6 miles, 8:30-8:40 felt really good so I went with it. Hammered the last 2 miles @ 8:12 & 7:31 and my legs felt fresh when I stopped and walked. I've never ran a long run this fast and felt this good afterwards....all this while the kids slept.
Woo hoo - I got my long run in this week!
