My attention turned to a man dragging a plastic sled just before the bridge. "What the hell is this supposed to be?" Is what I silently asked myself...then I immediately rolled an ankle. Thankfully at this pace I caught myself in time to not fall and not hurt anything but my arthritic big toe on opposite left foot. Then I go and stub left foot on God knows what a half mile later really sending a pain threw my toe and that then caused a surge of anger and something smarter than me said ..you are too Damn tired to be out here doing this.. but my mouth said it out loud. Ya maybe I answered...just sit a minute. Sat on the rock bench at the pond and saw the setting sun's lighting on everything brown and dormant that had been green and alive just 2 months before. The life is still there...it's just resting...waiting...renewing.
