At the gate where I stop for a drink, a furry spiked looking caterpillar dropped right in front of me on a lifeline. Then it started the long climb up the thread creating a ball of slack line as it did so. The scientist says they do this to avoid a predator. While they are munching on leaves they attach themselves with this lifeline then jump off to escape. Then they climb back up...Sometimes the breeze carrying them to a different location. While this may be true...what is not scientifically mentioned is what causes this caterpillar to do what it does? If a caterpillar does not act on thought... and surely, it does not think..."oh no, I am in danger...I must bungy jump." A caterpillar has no teacher...so it can not be taught this behavior in the first instance. So what is the cause? The scientist will say instinct. And what causes instinct? The scientist can not answer...because the answer is no thing and no thing can't be proven.

So so a half a mile after I left all that a took a rain delay at the falls under an overhang as the sky just let the flood gates open. I bought a new shuffle cause the old one died finally after getting repeated soaked from sweat and rain and this was the new ones maiden voyage. Perhaps I should bring a little bag to put it in for these situations..
