Notes: Brents Bday run + February's bRUNches of fun run! Meet us at Millers All Day (120 King St, Charleston, SC 29401) and we will run a scenic out and back around the tip of the pennisula. As always, feel free to add extra mileage. If you need some tips on a route we will be happy to point you in the right direction. On this fun run we will hit both White Point Gardens and Waterfront Park. White Point Gardens was first used as a public garden in 1837. With the outbreak of the Civil War, it became a fortification for the city. Visitors today also find an impressive display of historic mortars and cannons from the Civil War used to shell as well as defend the city. In the early 1720s, the infamous "gentleman" pirate Stede Bonnet was hanged here with about 50 others like him. This park has some great views of the water and Ft. Sumter. Most of us are familiar with Waterfront Park and it's views of the city. Did you know that the park received the 2007 Landmark Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects and the National Trust for Historic Preservation?? You can usually spot dolphins in the harbor and it's a great spot for photo ops! Millers All Day opens at 9 am with awesome breakfast food and mimosa's on tap! Stick around for a while and we will head to The Blind Tiger to continue the B-day celebration for Brent! https://millersallday.com/
