1200m leg of the DMR at Whitewater. Was not sure how this was gonna go and I would have liked to be faster but my only real goal was to pass the baton in first and that is what I did. We went through the first 400 as a decent pace (63) and then I did not realize how much we slowed over the next 400. If I could go back I would have taken over the lead at 600 and started a long charge home but you live and learn. Once I saw what we came through the 800 at I took over the lead and started to pick up the pace. Last lap was a little slow but I still had the fastest last lap of all the 1200m runners and I held the lead.

Running that fast after running a 5k last week and not racing for a year was definitely a shock to the system. I forgot how fast running at that pace is. But after the first lap I definitely got used to the hurt and looking back I think I could run a mile PR, maybe like 4:15-4:16. I am pretty confident for outdoors and think that I am in a really good spot for having to take 5 months off of running. Also being able to close in a 61 doesn't hurt considering I have not done a single workout faster than 5k pace so far. All around a good day.
