Notes

74F on the treadmill at Workout Anytime. Doing 2wu+3(2HMPw800r)+2cd. Was going to try the Peachtree Ridge HS track, but forgot my earphones and had to go home to get them. Went back to the track but saw some girls there, one with a megaphone which made me think they were going to do a cheerleading thing again, same as yesterday.

I didn't want to start a heavy workout and then have to stop to relocate to another place. Plus, with the temp in the mid 80s I didn't know if I would be able to maintain HMP anyway. (Was using 9:40 for HMP, which is just 10 seconds off of MP, per the Luke Humphreys' book. I never would have been able to maintain my actual HMP which is around 9:07 or so.)

So, I went to Workout Anytime and did the entire workout there. I had had the foresight to put a non-squeaking pair of shoes in the car, so I changed shoes before I went in.

With an inside temperature of 74, I got 12 seconds as the heat offset, so for the HMP portions set the treadmill for 6.1 which is 9:50.

For the 3 HMP portions, I registered the following: Avg HR 132, 131 & 131 and max of 134, 133, 134 with average cadence of 180 for all three. Was using metronome 178. The footpod registered much faster paces than the treadmill for the MP paces but was registered slower for the first warmup miles. I don't have any idea how to calibrate it so that they are sufficiently similar.

My calves felt rather beat up afterwards. Not sure why. It must be something having to do with that long/fast a run on the treadmill.
