57F 90%H 55DP, The Silver Comet Half Marathon. Picked up Terri Harmon at 0445 and got to the venue at 0530, right when packet pickup started. Got great parking right by packet pickup, by going in the side road. Shouldn't have run so many miles this week in order to have done better here. Lost my legs somewhere in mile 4. I was trying PODRuner at 180, which is 182 steps per minute according to the foot pod, or 91 strides per minute. That is just too fast for anything other than a 5k, or possibly a 10k. I probably would have done better with a slower cadence that I might have been able to hold, like 187 or possibly 188.. I was number 84500. Also, some of the music just had too confused a beat. Gonna have to weed out some of these confused ones. Will update when I get official results.
Have run this three times. The first two times I placed second in age group and this time I placed third. I'll try for first next time.
