68F 78%H 61DP, at the Silver Comet. Was going to try 3wu+12MP+3cd instead of the 18MP that was actually scheduled. All was well through the 3wu and 4.25 of the 12MP and then I ran out of energy for keeping up the 10:15 pace. It was like a switch had been thrown. I had to drop back to a run at 11:xx and then all was well. I just couldn't keep up the cadence for 10:15.

As it turns out, 11:00 was the scheduled pace for the 12MP, namely MP (10:15) + 0:45, so my 11:02 would have been fine. I was too aggressive losing weight this week, some days eating only salads, which is why I could barely run yesterday. So yesterday I had got 5 popcorn chicken (pc) of which I just about finished 4. It is breaded which explains why my weight is more than 5 pounds heavier than it should have been this morning. I had rice + beans + pc, and later rice + pc. Also munched a couple of boxes of pc just as a snack. I also had a 16.9 oz = 500 ml of Carbo Gain last night to force in a few more carbs.

Before the run this morning, I had 2x oatmeal with molasses (think 1 would have been fine) as well as a cup of coffee. I was too full so didn't have my usual banana. I also had an e-Gel just before the run and at miles 6 and 12 as well as my usual 22.x oz = 900 ml handheld with Vitargo of which I drank about 2/3. After the run I had 2 bananas and the 16.9 = 500 ml bottle of protein drink and 2 bananas.

Other than the sudden fade at 7.25 miles I was fine the rest of the way at the slower pace. Wonder if the e-Gels had some beneficial effect.

Anyway, bumped up to #18 on RA YTD mileage.
