Notes

WOW definitely the running fuel made a HUGE difference, still I kicked the first 10 miles ass but the second 10 kicked mine.

My awesome husband is on a trip today, but was BlackBerry messaging me on his turns to cheer me on. He's the BEST! You wouldn't think a thing like that could make such a huge difference, but it does!

Ran the first 3.5 mile with no break at all, then had my first block cube. Margarita flavor :) not too bad, sweeter than I would like. Even ran the hard, steep hill instead of taking the longer shallower one.

Finished 10 miles in 2 hours 4 minutes feeling good. Taking some walking breaks, especially on the uphills. Definitely getting tired, and it is HOT but I'm still hanging in there.

After mile 12 I really start feeling it, longer walk breaks and shorter run bursts. I really wish I could figure out how to run slower. Can't seem to manage slower than a 12 minute mile pace. I think if I could slow to a 13 minute mile pace and keep it steady, I'd be golden.

13.17 miles, take a full stop break. Feeling mentally beaten. Starting to think that maybe this is just too much for me with all the training I missed with my injury and the new job.

Ran out of water at mile 15. At 16.7 miles, I take another full stop break and get some water at the pump station. A nice man runs the pump for me so I can fill my camelback, well 1/4 fill at least.

Feeling lots better than I did at mile 16 on my 17mile run but I'm pretty beat.

At 17 miles, I'm definitely walking more than running, but still within range. Course max is 15 minute mile.

Really push myself the last 2 miles (but not too crazy, it IS 93 after all) and I finish the last 10th of a mile in a finish sprint.

Need to work out my formula, since I can't seem to run as slow as I need to, I need to get the formula worked out to run/walk so I don't overwork myself so much on the first half.

Overall, I'm very happy. Including my full stop and bio breaks, my total time was withing the 5 hours which would be course limit.
