Notes
I decided to run in a 5k cross country race in Deer Grove forest preserve (which is right by my new house). It was a nice event... there were several ncc runners there that I knew from the summer: carlson, brady, lancaster, spain, plus some incoming freshmen. It seemed like a lot of HS and some college runners were in the race, making it good competition for an 'old guy' like me. I wasn't expecting much and thus just ran in my training shoes. It was a good effort based on my insufficient training. The weather was good. Oh yeah, the race only cost $2. I'll definately be looking for these races next summer.
