Xterra Trail Series 8k in Deer Grove
The course was solely on the yellow trail, which I am familiar with from many runs. It has moderate hills, mostly small gravel with a little dirt and mud in spots. Only one half-mile section was a challenge to traverse--the bulk was meandering limestone path.
Good: weather, hard tempo effort, location, first "trail race"
Bad: ran about .5 miles with other people and 4.5 on my own. Considering I train in this park anyways, I question the value paying $30 to enter
There is a 10k and 12k later this Summer which I would like to run as well, with the goal of progressively faster pace per mile.
