Inspired by the hill workouts people have been doing, I decided to get out of the gym and do one of my own. There are not many places to run near my appartment, but there is a perfect little 1/2 mile loop right across the street that has a nasty hill. I started with a ~4.5 mi building run and went right into the hills. Each hill was about 1/4 mile hard and 1/4 mile continuous jog around to the start. My plan was to do 10 laps (5 mi) of hills and this ended up being about perfect. I was feeling pretty strong until about #7 and the last few were tough. Short jog back to my house. Total time was 1:10:30 but this included some downtime and traffic stops.
