Notes
Good run on a cold and windy day. I love this route - so pretty. 14 mph wind was in my face for the first half. Trees and ridges didn't protect as much as I had hoped. 1189' elevation gain, 1215 loss. Route is uphill for the first 5 miles, then gently downhill for 1.75, then the reverse. I did a final 1/2 mile up then down then up past the car. Uphill felt hard, but I was able to maintain a slow jog. Stopped or walked for water every couple of miles. Stopped to let cars go by several times. The road was busier than I expected (deer archery season). Return downhill trip felt mostly easy. Hamstrings hurt a bit and my feet hurt from all the rocks in the road, but I had more energy than I expected. I ate a couple of dates at 7 miles, which may have helped. Actual run was a bit longer than shown because I stopped my watch once and forgot to start it for a bit.
