Another toasty one today, weather has been awesome the past two days (71 degrees) so decided to head out for a run before the 3:15 practice. Quads felt better and despite feeling a little funky due to the heat figured i decided to do an impromptu workout. Warmed up on Ghetto Gilman and then turned left almost instantly and headed to Lincoln Park. Decided to go with a workout I haven't done for awhile, 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 w/1 minute steady jog rest in-between. I knew Lincoln Park was close to a half mile loop (mapped it at .48) so thought this would be the best place to avoid traffic and get into a groove. Honestly felt pretty strong during this and I had no idea on how fast or slow I was going but just tried to go by what felt good. Ended up being pretty solid! Went close to 30 seconds longer on the last one just because where I would have finished wasn't near a landmark so I ran to the next one so I could map it. The loop has some small rollers and I ran the loop 12+ times so I feel like I got a good workout in. 5:30 average is pretty solid consider 8 minutes of that were above 6 minute pace! Did an easy cooldown back and went up Randall hill again but was surprised the cooldown was that fast because I felt like I was crawling. Good day today! May double after class tonight, hopefully motivation is high lol it would probably do me some good.
