Very cold and windy day today at the Turkey Trot. Got out and was able to survive the hordes of high schoolers racing to West Street to make the picture. Once they dropped off we immediately got into our own pack of 7 which was Brady, Andrew Nelson, Nick Bushell, Muth, Me, Colin Fedor, and Oats. Went through the mile in 4:58 and then Fedor fell off and Oats took his place. Nelson made a big move and from that point on nobody changed positions. It was unfortunate that the wind literally hit us in every single direction so there was never a time when we could run with it. Muth, Oats, and I ran together for the last 2 miles and the only reason we have different times is because of the kick the last 200. Overall, everybody ran a lot slower today than last year but the race served the purpose as to helping me remember what it's like to race competitively again. Also, first time doing sub 5 minute mile effort in a long ass time so I can't complain. Looking for a solid time next week at Grand Valley, hopefully I can get around 15 flat and that would be a great way to start off my winter training.
