Conference 5k. Kerley was going to try and lead us through 70's and make the race honest and then Travis and I were going to work together and try to break everyone. Unfortunantely that's not what happened. The conditions wern't bad but they weren't great either. It was basically a tamer version of the Wheaton Quad, raining and very wet with a windy finish. We went through the mile in 4:46 and some Augie kid screamed and fell to the ground (I think it was Justin Smith). After that Kerley fell off and Travis controlled the pace with me right behind him. We went through the 2 mile in 9:37 and it did not feel as easy as it should have. Lead a lap, then Travis passed me again and I tried to hang onto him. Felt pretty freakin flat unfortunantely and with 800 to go Keith and Kerley passed me with Johnathan Smith right behind me. At 400 to go I forced myself to get moving and passed Kerley with 300 to go and then really started hawking down Travis and Keith. Travis lead till 100 to go and then Keith passed him with me right behind. I tried as hard as I could but I had hit my limit and couldn't kick anymore. Kerley caught me with 30 meters to go and he ended up beating me by .05 or whatever. Pissed that Keith just leached off of us and let us do all the work, but conference is about place not time.....still fuck him. He'll get his next week when he can't leach off of us and actually has to do some work
