Continuing that Tinley Park Stars and Stripes 5k tradition with the fam again, up to year #6 now. I separated myself instantly from everyone and just ran solo. Felt pretty much like shit the entire time but I just focused on good form and giving an honest effort. The weather was decent out, cloudy so no sun which was nice but holy crap was it humid out. As always with Tinley, course is a little long but I was around typically what I run at this point of the year. Was nice to be able to gut this out, the hills at the end always hurt but I think this year I did a better job than usual at being able to power through them. Great start to the day! Splits: 4:55-10:03-??:??-15:55.
Big shoutout to my dad who tied his 5k PR on a much tougher course and running 30 miles a week!
