Chicagolands 3k. Not really sure to think about this one. I'm not happy with the race, but I'm not super angry either. It's just frustrating knowing that I am way faster than this and I don't run what I'm capable of. In the race we went straight to the back unfortunately and got bad positioning but we still went out in a 68. Ended up getting separated from the front pack which was really stupid on my part. Went out in 4:32 regardless and couldn't really catch up to Ben so I just kinda got stuck in no-man's land. Roger passed me once or twice and we took turns doing the work so that was nice. Didn't have a big kick but managed to pass some people and hold off Daniel P from Chicago, who I'm sure pretty much hates my guts considering the way our races always play out.
Overall, it's a step in the right direction. The race felt tough but I could have done alot better and I know it. Felt pretty tired for a few minutes and then afterwards I was totally fine. Haven't been able to do all the workouts with the guys and I know the last few weeks I've been on a different schedule than them so I can't expect to feel like they do. Also, I think I might be a little buried (as stupid and wimpy as that sounds) so I'm hoping that this monday's easy run helps me get a bit more recovery. Looking forward to next week's 5k and gotta just keep myself positive. Definitely way better than last week at least.
