Notes

Definitely one of those runs that only happen once in a blue moon. Felt good right off the bat and despite starting slower than I did yesterday I decided to pick it up and keep a steady pace throughout. Legs felt good, breathing was totally controlled, and it wasn't hard to press and get after it a little. Did the same route as yesterday but then did an extra loop around my neighborhood to make it over 8. At about the 2.15 mile marker I was at a 6:25 average so even though the 5:48 isn't anything crazy it's pretty solid considering the negative split. That means my last 6 miles were 5:33 pace so I'm content with that. I'm kicking myself a bit now because I wasn't expecting such a huge 180 in terms of how I was feeling since this whole week has been nothing but bad run after bad run. As much as it sucks not racing today, I've got to start focusing on longer runs and such since Boston is much closer than I like to admit. Looking back, it was probably a smart thing to do what I did today even though racing would have been fun. Happy with this run and excited to watch the Alumni Mile and then get a good long run in tomorrow morning with a group for once!
