Today was one of those days where I was just busy the whole time, and after I got done with a long group presentation prep in which we basically wasted 2 and a half hours of our time, I was very grumpy and not in a good mood. It was lightly drizzling and kinda cold out and I was just not vibing running at the time. Told myself I would just run on the treadmill, get a mile or so in at least, and do my best to zone out and de-stress if possible. Started the run and had some intense quad pain for the first minute. It was very strange and it was a dull ache/knife pain and then, poof, it vanished. Maybe I was sitting funny at work, but idk for sure. Regardless, made sure to be smart and just progress slowly but surely. Ended up being a very good run, just needed to burn off some extra energy and was able to do just that. Progressed by roughly 20 seconds per mile and finished my last 3 miles pretty quick! Overall, stressful day but was very appreciative to have running here for me so I could blow off some steam! Also, ended up being a solid progression run and it allowed me to get in some form of a workout in before Saturday! Things will get better after Wednesday, but for now, just gotta hang tough and bite the stress bullet for a bit.
