Notes

Best day of the year so far as far as weather goes. 60degrees and sunny for our afternoon long run in Belle Meade. Nathan had a charity walk in the morning so we planned on meeting at the main gates at 2. Got started a little after. Stayed very conservative on our first loop, which had a few rolling hills too, especially over on Jackson, Nate's legs were sore and I was too. Second loop we started out page (big hill) and did the modified Tyne out and back. Most of that is very flat after Page and we sped up for this part. Started the third loop (last segment) up the main drive and did the scenic 1.8 loop (I guess just to throw a real hill in there). Anyway by this point we were both warmed up and into the run so we ran that hill a lot faster than we would have if we were doing like the 11.2 or 5.8 or something. Hit the golf course porta potty on the way back, then we took off down the blvd for an out and back to get to 16. Somewhere in mile 14 after the turn back at Harding I passed Nathan who had been leading most of the run. I picked up the pace to HM race pace and tried to hold it as long as I could. Ended up getting all the way back into the park around mile 15.5 before having to ease off. Half mile wd out page and back to finish. Legs and body felt good the whole time (probably due to taking the first 6 so easy). Nice to have a little something left at the end on such a beautiful day. We also stopped by the house with the mural on jackson for a couple of minutes on the first loop just to see it.
