Frostbite Half Marathon, Cedars of Lebanon State Park: it was cold, it was hilly, it was windy, it was hard but it was also my second fastest half marathon ever. Only Indy last year was faster and it didn't have a single hill and this one had one every mile and I was only a couple of minutes slower. Did this race 2 years ago in an abysmal 2 hours and 12 mintues, so I got my revenge. Went to Birmingham the same weekend last year and only ran a 1:36 and this was a much harder course. Gotta give it up to Tim who was less than a minute off his Indy time. Ran with him for the first 4 until he started to pull away, I kept him in sight until about 12 and he definatley turned it on on the highway section to the end. Never quite had the burst of adrenaline I felt at Indy to spur me on to catch him but at 9 I could start to smell the barn door. Gave a good effort to kick at then end but still got passed by a guy in my age group and I just didn't have the spring in my legs to challenge him. 6th place age group's not bad, this race has become very competitive.
