Notes

This was the first Joe Kelley workout of the year. As always, he had us do many different exercises. We started out with dynamic warmups including various skips for 50 yards, leg swings, arm swings, squats, and dives. Then he had us do my favorite sprint exercise in which we sprint at a ball from different directions and starting out in various positions (lying flat on back, jumping up from knees, on the stomach facing forward. Then we did hurdle flex, which I enjoy doing a lot. Next was a rigorous core workout, which included crunches, pushups on the medicine ball, and other movements. Many involved the medicine ball which made this a much more intense core workout than last year. Finally, we did more medicine ball exercises, the hardest being lunges for 50 yards with the medicine ball held straight over our heads. We finished with a yoga session but it didn't last long because we were all being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Overall though, it was not a bad workout, and Joe Kelley said this is by far the easiest of the summer so I am excited for Monday's workout!
