Notes

In 2006 I ran 1000.2kms, never did many runs past 10K, weighed between 85-90kgs, and ran 1 half-marathon in 1:53:05 with negative splits, even outsprinting Hatch who tried to take me in the last couple of kms. Never ever got cramps in my calves.

But... I guess I got old.

Last year I ran 1109.2kms, started off doing long runs but then stopped doing them in the autumn, weighed between 75-80kgs, and ran 6 half-marathons. I started getting cramps in my calves... come the autumn...

I think I just got old. And regardless of how much mileage I am clocking, I think I just have to get my long runs done or I can't perform as well at the end. Wasn't dehydration or health issues either. Could get away with it in the past, but not anymore...

So yeah, cramped up again at the end. Then again, was never expecting a fast time during the winter - haven't done that much mileage or ANY long runs. Good to get one in though!
