Notes

Keswick to Barrow, in appalling weather. Hours of torrential rain, did virtually all of it with my jacket on and often hood up. Good grief, it was awful. Soaking feet for about 6 hours. Ugh.

Just jogged it, certainly for the first 20 miles, and stayed together as a group of 9 until 25 miles, with some (too) long waits at several points for the minibus and for group to catch up. Group splintered after that, long slog up the hill from Lowick at 27 miles to the top beyond 31 miles, with the weather worsening and cloud lowering, although I struggled there and the legs gave up for a while. Not a day for views. 6 hours with more efficiency and without too much difficulty, I would think.

Hamstrings annoyingly bad, starting at about 10 miles - I think I tweaked them (irritatingly) on the Lanc Uni trim trail on Monday, and they were actually very sore by the end. Burst of energy took me to a sprint (well, surely sub-8-m/m) through Dalton, but then legs gave out again.

Saw mum at Elterwater checkpoint - before the rain got too bad ...
