w S (now gingerly emerged from her sickbed) and J - from Castle Drogo through delightful woods to el pueblito pintoresco de Drewsteignton and back. Climbed a fence to avoid some cows - S ripped her waterproof trousers and J stabbed himself slightly on the barbed wire, but pleased to report that I escaped unscathed.
Reading "The Runner" by Markus Torgeby - I didn't expect to enjoy it, but it is a beautiful book.
