w W - in very hot temps (30 degrees on the car). Langdale - Angle Tarn - Langstrath - Stake Pass - back to Firgarth. 835m ascent. Swam in Angle Tarn, beautiful pool in Langstrath, and in the Langdale Beck at the end. W felt quite dodgy on the first climb, but OK after that. We walked most of the uphills. Last couple of miles down the valley were very hot and a little bit remorseless.
It is 4.5 miles from Firgarth to the end of the valley - the Esk / Stake path choice. Memorable day!
