10 mile progression run starting at easy pace and then working my way down to 6:00 pace. Plan was to get down to 6:00ish pace around 7 miles or so and then just hang out there for the last few miles.
Started out at normal easy pace and then naturally picked up the pace about 5-10 seconds each mile till around mile 5. I dropped the pace a little bit more on the 6th mile, but I didn't know it was by as much as 20 seconds. From 7 on, I was back to the 5-10sec decrease in pace each mile. I was trying to keep a 6:00 pace from 8-10 but I was a few seconds too fast. The last 5 miles avg'd out to a 6:03 pace.
I'll be driving up to Alamogordo, NM later today and will run my 2nd run there.
