Notes

Planned workout: 2M warm-up, 3 miles at 6:30, 3 miles at 6:05, 2-3 miles at 5:45, 1 mile cool-down.

The first 3 miles (19:20 - 6:25, 6:27, 6:28) felt very smooth and comfortable. I had to consistently look at my watch after the 1st mile to ensure I stayed close to 6:30 pace and not run too fast.

The 2nd 3-mile section (18:09 - 6:04, 6:03, 6:02) felt controlled and steady. It took a little effort to shift gears to 6:05 pace. Once I got there, I had no problems maintaining the pace. However, I had to stay focus on this section because it was easy to run slower/faster than 6:05. At this point legs and cardio were feeling great.

The last 3-mile section (16:58 - 5:43, 5:41, 5:34) felt fast and tough, but certainly manageable. I actually thought that I would be hurting more on the 2nd mile. Felt like I was out for a normal hard tempo run. Like the first transition, I put in a little surge as I transitioned from the 2nd to the last 3-mile section. At the 2.5 mile mark, I picked up the pace to where I felt like I was beginning to struggle to keep form.

Very happy with this workout and how I felt overall. Legs are feeling good.
