Freezing cold (23 deg), but it wasn't too bad.

Workout: 20 miles with last 5 miles at sub 5:50.

Ran the first 10 miles on rolling hills and then the last half fairly flat on the downtown loop. Felt good and smooth for about the first half of the run, but I could tell that the legs were accumulating fatigue as the run went on. I've been right around 95-100 miles rolling total for the past week, so I knew that the legs weren't going to feel fresh. I averaged 6:45 pace for the first 15 miles and then rolled right into the fast-finish. The first fast mile felt okay, but not as comfortable as I'd hope for. By the 2nd fast mile I felt like I got into a rhythm, but it didn't feel easy. The last couple miles was tough because of the slight gradual incline. Ended up running 28:59 for the last 5 miles.

A good long run, but the legs were beat afterwards. It probably would have been better if I didn't run the rollings hills for the first half and just kept it fairly flat. Or, maybe this is what I needed for Boston!
