Planned workout: 2M warm-up, 16x400m at sub-80 w/ 1:00 rest, 2M cool-down
Ran to the Havre de Grace high school track (2.3M from home) and then did a few strides. Goal was to keep the reps at 78-80 feeling smooth/controlled and fast for the first 12 reps and then maybe around 75 for the last 4. For recovery, I jogged for about 20s, turned back to the start line and then rested until I was ready for the next rep. Besides the 1st rep (80s), my splits were consistent at 77-78s. Was still feeling good after the 12th rep, so I made the last 4 a little tough.
It was my first track session in a very long time. Although it was a good workout, I'm sure I might be feeling the legs a bit in tomorrow's 20miler.
