Weather: 24 degrees with a real-feel of 13 degrees. Bitter cold!
Workout: 3 miles warmup, 3 miles at 5:25, 2.5 miles at 5:15, and 2 miles at 5:10 with 800m recovery jog, 1 mile cooldown.
Man, it was just too cold and I never felt like I could get the legs to run any faster than 5:25ish pace. It wasn't like I was breathing hard, I just couldn't or didn't feel like pushing the pace. On the 2.5 mile tempo, not much change and I was still running 5:25. The legs did start to feel very heavy on the last lap of the 2.5 mile, so I decided to call it the day. With only one easy day after the long run, which I pushed to a day later, the legs likely wasn't recovered enough to run the planned paces. Oh well.
