Workout: 3 miles warmup, 8x2:00 at sub 5:20 with 2:00 jog, 1-2 miles cooldown.

Wow, it was freeeezing (17 deg)!!! The first couple miles were painfully cold, but after that I was fine. I wasn't sure how the legs were going to feel because I only had one day of recovery since the long run on Sunday. Besides the freezing temp, I actually felt pretty good. I was able to run the 2:00 fast at sub 5:20 pace. At first, I thought it was going to feel much tougher since I was running a little longer compared to the 1/4 mile fartlek as part of the Sunday's long run. However, after hitting the first couple repeats with no problems, I knew I'd be able to complete the workout without feeling beat up. What I realized was that I was running 2:00 at sub-5:20 on fresher legs. The 1/4 mile repeats on Sunday was after 10 miles of steady running, so it wasn't like they were fresh. I ended up covering 3.15 miles for the 16 minutes of fast running.

Overall, a very good workout!
