Notes
Weather: 35 degrees with 15mph winds.
Workout: 3 miles warmup, 6x800 at 2:30 w/ 400m rec jog, 2 miles cooldown
My legs felt like they were still sleeping during the warmup so I threw in a couple strides to wake 'em up. Conditions were windy with winds at 15mph gusting to 25mph. The winds were coming from the NNW, which meant I was running into the wind from the 100 to 200 and 500 to 600m mark.
Despite the windy conditions, I was still able to hit my splits: 2:30, 2:31, 2:29, 2:30, 2:30, & 2:29. In the first couple reps, I came through the 400 in 73 and 74, which I was really hoping to run even 400 splits or faster in the 2nd 400. I made some adjustment in reps 3-6 and did just that. However, I certainly felt like I was working hard in the last 400 of each of the remaining reps. The winds also made it tough, but I really focused on running strong into the headwinds.
Good workout and 6 repeats was enough.
