Notes
Nice chilly morning. Wore long tights and a jacket. By the end of my run my inside shirt was all wet.
Workout: 10 miles starting as slow as I want and working down to 5:40 pace.
I treated this run as a normal run while naturally progressing to marathon pace by the 10th mile. Legs felt really good and after a slow easy mile, I progressed each mile by about 10-15 seconds. The pace progression felt natural, and I never felt like I was surging to make each mile faster. Got down to low 6s by the sixth mile, and on the last four miles I just increased the pace slightly while getting a feel for marathon effort/pace. Last 4 miles was in 23:05, 5:46 pace.
Overall, a very good progression run without much stress on the body.
