What a beatiful race in Goleta. The weather was perfect on this Thanksgiving day.
I told myself at the begining of the race to hold back and run within my abilities. I thougth I was doing that untill I checked my time at mile 2, 13:00 flat, Oh Crap! 6:30 mile splits. I new that was to fast and it would be hard to hold on to that pace.
Mile three I started to fall off and I was getting passed slowly by several runners. With about a half mile to go I got some of my strength back and picked it back up, passed one young dude at the end and was able to get under 28 minutes which was my goal.
I need to work on my negitive splits and my running economy. Longer Runs on weekends...
