ONU!
I’m glad we picked this meet this year, what a treat of a course. My mom and Dad and Finn and Murphy came too, so it was already set up to be a great time. Had a nice warm up felt pretty eh. Waited in a long line for the bathroom and then did some warm up stuff. Started off the race and tucked in right behind the top 3 girls, suckers took the wind the whole time...well...except for the 30 seconds ish that I was in first place which was exhilarating. I wish the course would have been marked a little better. I didn’t know too much about how I was doing. I do know I went out in a conservative 6:02 mile this time despite Julia and Emma asking me to run behind them. For most of the race I could hear emma behind me though so that was comforting. I lost the pack I was running with with maybe a few minutes left of the race so that was a bummer. BUT this is a 23 second PR and a sixth place finish for me so I’ve gotta say I love how this season is going. What made me even happier was all the women that raced, it makes me so happy when everyone signs up and puts out their best races. WE HAD A FIRST PLACE FINISH TODAY so I feel good with us going into Lewis/regionals/nationals. I love this team and this was a great finish to a big week.
