Spartan run! (counting as my long run)

This was much more physically taxing than I originally thought. Silly me. The running wasn't even that bad because we couldn't move very fast because of the mud. But what a fun time! Obstacles included running through muddy creeks, carrying sandbags and buckets of rocks, a rope climb, crawling through mud under barbed wire, pulling a metal plate with sandbags on it across a field, jumping over fire, various monkey bar style climbing obstacles, flipping over a big tire. All while being very very muddy. Like triple knot your shoes but still feel like your shoe is going to be sucked into the mud type of mud. Wild. Went back to Chicago and inhaled burritos afterwards and fell asleep (after showering!) Such a good weekend with Straw! The spartan race made me wish my arms were stronger for sure

mileage was s a d and I am s o r e but next week will be better!

Wow, sounds like a great time. The only thing I can almost relate to is in gym(middle school) we climbed a rope one day and I fell/gave up 3 times before I finally climbed all the way up. Then my weak little arms let go and I fell on a girl below.

I started getting into fitness because I couldn't do a pullup and my last name started with A so i went first and the entire class watched me fail.The girls got to do a reverse pull up where they hung for as long as they could.
