Notes

Workout with Julia and Muneeb's group, still feel like I'm getting back into it and it didn't help we were running on grass so hoping for smoother stronger workouts in the future but it was so nice to have such a big group. Thought I would only do like 10 or 12 min of tempo but tricked myself into 15. Our first mile was 6:22 but Julia and I spent the first quarter mile sprinting after Muneeb's group since they had left without us. At about 10/11 min I started dropping away from the group and feeling the fast start but Julia was hanging back a little and so was a guy named Tim who I met at the ice cream social yesterday. Julia got away and Tim and I helped push each other to finish it up and I was happy to have him around. But I was a little dead for the 1k's. First 1k was 6:15 pace the second one was 6:38 pace because of that dumb arb hill so I stopped myself there. Muneeb caught up to me on the second 1k and I just made it my goal to hang onto him. Nervous to see how the race this weekend is going to go because I don't quite feel in race shape yet but it's going to be a fun weekend and we get cookies after and then I'm going up to Chicago to see Straw for the rest of the weekend

The way I've been looking at--since I'm on the same page as you race wise--is that I rather feel crappy now than at regionals, even though it still stinks. Obviously this race will be more of a primer than the main event, which is fine but I give you a lot of credit for feeling the 1ks out because far too many people push themselves too far. Also, yay for cookies and grocery shopping :)

sowwy we left early. Like you told the women, be excited for the race but also for everything that comes with it
