Notes

Felt kinda out of it starting out. It was pretty humid from the rains yesterday. I think about 2 miles I hit a bit of a downhill and that helped stretch things out and I felt better.

chugged away, doing ok. Not climbing particularly fast, but its a long run.

Hit the PCT, and it was ok. It got a bit rough just before 88.

After 88, I took the wrong turn. I was supposed to go to Winemucca lake and then to Round Top Lake. All of that was on the north side of Round Top Hill. Well, I took the south side. It dropped me down into quite the canyon. I ran extra trying to find the lake I was supposed to turn around at. Gave up at 12ish. I chugged back up most of the 2+ miles of climb, but it took most of the fight out of my legs and my brain. There was some rocky stuff.

Took breaks to eat, to move my gear around and stuff. Walked probably more uphills than I should have. By the time I got back to 88 it was getting hot. That sketchy section north of 88 was mostly walked. I hit a little creek with about 7 to go and decided to get a nice cold drink out of it. Also drenched my hair and cooled off a bit. That helped.

I hit just about every stream I could from then on to cool off. (Probably 4 of em plus frog lake.)

About the time I got back on the rim trail, clouds started coming in. It sprinkled on me a bit around round lake, but never really rained. It helped take the sting out of the heat though.

Finished it up. Time was pretty slow, but I was just wanting to finish. I didn't have much fight in me the 2nd half. My watch said well over 4000 feet of climbing...
