Supposed to do a 5 mile out and back... decided to do two laps around the block... same diff right?

Started off a bit fast. so I tried to relax coming down Conte... Got to the half way mark hoping for about 9:15 and I was like 8:57. Worked my way up the hills and tried to relax across the top. Time at Bennett told me I was too fast, and I was feeling the hills... I figured there was almost no chance I could run the second half as fast... But I put it in my mind that if I ran the downhills strong I might be ok and to just hang in there.

First lap: 18:10

Second lap I tried to stay strong on clearview hill and just let the downhills carry me. Stay strong and smooth and relaxed and hope for the best. I hit the halfway mark even faster... Like 8:45 or so... I was shocked.

Came up the hill and it was killing me. I got breathless about the time I turned on to Gentry and never recovered. Finally got to the top of the hill and had to stop myself from just jogging and tried to be strong and relax the rest of the way in. The time at Bennett made no sense to me (13:57) so I all but ignored it.

Second Lap: 17:26 ?!

I was again shocked it was that fast... I actually stopped and rested for about 2 minutes to get my breath back... Hope it wasn't so hard I screwed up tomorrow... but it was really fast and pretty under control...

Very encouraging...
