Notes
Something fixed itself about 2 days ago. I've lost 6 pounds and had to just pee like crazy. Finally felt good yesterday, and today I felt a bit tired at the start, but much better than I had for most of the rest of the week.
I started off trying to be really easy. Pace was fine. Mostly low 11s. Hills generally felt ok. At 5 miles, I hit some good chunks of mud. At 6 miles, it was all mud. I wanted to go out 8.5, but I turned around. Probably ran a quarter mile in really sloppy slippery sticky mud as deep as my shoe. I didn't want to fight that for an hour.
On the way back, I turned off on a side road and got the extra 5 miles in on that. It was pretty flat, so I didn't get the elevation I wanted. (hence, the pretty quick pace.)
I felt tired at the end, but not exhausted. I had some life in the legs still (as shown by my last 3 miles being sub 10.) My hips were there, but I'd find a way to change the pace a bit or hit a small uphill or something that changed things up and they weren't as bad. I think my form might be deteriorating a bit when I get tired, and that is contributing.
Good run overall...
