Felt exceptionally sluggish and heavy legged at the start of today run. I told myself not to worry about pace for the first loop and to simply enjoy being out and running. As I finished the first loop it was apparent that I wasn't going to get a great tempo in so I decided to just do fartleks for the second loop. I still didn't feel great but at least it made for a good workout. My last pick-up was up the hill by the Thornhill lot on the west side. That one hurt like heck. I hadn't been that far into oxygen debt in a long time. I got a brain freeze as I finished. I went right into a cool down after that last hill/pick-up and must have been in a real daze because about 1 mile before the end of my cool down I started to realize that I didn't remember passing a large section of the loop, but I obviously had. All things considered I'm really happy with how today went. One of the best/worst parts of running is that it is like the rest of life. It's not always fair. There are ups and downs. Most days don't go exactly how you'd want them to. If you can't adjust and make the best of it though, you're not going to get much done. Although my legs didn't want to give me a whole lot today, I still was able to make the best of it.
