Notes

I hope this is my entry in "worst run of the week" category. In many ways, this wasn't a bad run. 7min pace felt a lot more relaxed than it had the past few weeks. I definitely underestimated the heat though. I assumed that because it wasn't as humid as it was in KC that it wouldn't bother me. That was not the case. 85 degrees is still hot. Also, about 4 miles in I started to develop a blister on the top of my right big toe, right where the bottom of the toenail hits the rest of the toe. It wasn't so much a blister actually as a cut. The front of my shoe had caved in a tad (probably from shoving it in the back of the car on the way back from Kansas) and was rubbing back and forth. So from 4 miles onward I was going back and forth from curling my toes so as to shorten my foot (which messes up your stride) and just dealing with it. I couldn't really handle more than 10 steps at a time though, so most of the run was spent with the toes curled. By the end I was dehydrated and in a lot of pain. Was super glad when this run was done. Funny how I can wear a pair of shoes without socks everyday and never have trouble until suddenly one day they fit a tad differently and suddenly it's disaster.
