Notes

Wasn't looking forward to this during the warm-up but it ended up being one of my best track workouts in a long time. Lately I've finished track workouts feeling LESS confident and MORE frustrated. Today was the opposite. I was actually able to do what I set out to do. The rain lightened up a bunch as I started the workout and I could tell it was actually getting warmer. I wore just half tights and a long sleeve for the workout. My stomach had a pretty painful ball of gas just sitting there so I was burping pretty loud in between intervals. It was painful but running didn't make it any worse. It probably had something to do with the celebration dinner I had last night with Jane and some friends in regards to the scholarship I just got for my Masters program at Wheaton (More to come on that later).

Took 2min standing rest in between repeats for the 800s and then about 70sec for the quarters. I think that one of the mistakes I often make for track workouts is thinking that I need to always do super short rest stuff. Especially when I'm alone and have tired legs. Having a full 2min today really helped me have a solid workout.

I also refused to look at any splits during the intervals. I have a bad habit of overthinking things when I'm on the track. Today I ran totally by feel. I just tried to get after each interval and run free like I would if I were doing these on the road.
