First 45-50min of this run were rough. Allergies really had me down. Wasn't totally sure I was going to make it the full 20. Kept pressing on though. I at least wanted to cross paths with Jane who was doing her 50miler that she's been building up to all summer. Around 50-60min I actually started getting more into it and tricked myself into heading out far enough on the path that even the quickest way back would be a full 20. The way back was a struggle, especially with the slight incline the entire way. I think the fact that all I could do was head back helped me focus a bit allowing me to feel a bit better. At about 1hr40 I started pressing even more and the last 30-40min ended up being the best of the whole run. So even though this wasn't a great run, I'm still still encouraged by the fact that the last 5-6mi of a 20mi are the part that I felt the best on.

Glad I got this run in. They're not all going to be winners. If 19-20mi can be a baseline long run for me instead of 17-18, then I think I will be helped out a lot on race day.
