Solid run but not quite a tempo. Went out through Fermi Lab and into Batavia. For some reason I thought the rain was almost done when I started my run. Little did I know, it was just starting. Wound through some neighborhoods in Batavia to hook up with the IPP. For 3 miles, starting at Kirk Road, it was all a big puddle. I managed to keep a solid pace (615/620ish) for a while but my shoes were drenched and weighed 50 pounds. As I approached the bend close to I-88 I saw that the path was closed and got worried because it was about 9 miles to get back to my house. Thankfully there was a detour that wasn't as apparent from a quarter mile away like the closed path sign was. This added on a bit of distance though. I was sent out onto Ferry Road and then Eola to spend the next few miles right into the wind while getting sprayed by semis. Not my favorite stretch I've ever run. Finally got back onto the normal path and back into the puddles. Was definitely hurting at that point at 6:40 pace felt like 6 flat pace. Eased the pace a bit for the last two miles as a cool down. Overall a good run in very bad conditions. Solid 90+ min runs are going to be a staple for the next few months.
