Most encouraging run in a while. IT was a tad iffy at first but as long as I didn't overstride (do any high-knees or butt-kickers) it was fine. Went straight from the Mack rd lot to the hill (~2 miles) and hit the grass hill hard. That helped open me up a bunch. I stopped for a minute at the top and stretched before heading down for a second. Felt really strong on both hills and was able to blast the whole way up. I honestly don't think I've been able to attack b-well like that since I was in college. Not saying I'm in anywhere near the same shape. But that is a good sign for my anaerobic fitness (and that my legs are ready to go). Took a slightly longer way to get back to my car and threw in a few picks up for 45-90 seconds each. Stretched out really well afterward and didn't have any pain/inflammation after the run. Another encouraging part of this run is that the only times when the ITB would bug me was when running slow. Once I opened up and ran hard, it felt fine. Hopefully that means that, even if not great on Saturday, I'll still be able to muster up 3 solid races. Super excited for this weekend. Broke in my new pair of DS-Trainers. They're nice.
