Notes

This was another really good run. Never pushed the pace too hard but never let it get too slow either. Headed out through Blackwell and did a similar loop to last Wednesday but felt good as I finished so I added on the Riverside-Branch-Continental loop in my neighborhood. The trails were even better than last week too. Last week I skipped the shaded section behind the hill. Today, I decided to run it. For the most part it was okay but I did take a pretty bad spill at one point. The trail itself was a sheet of ice so I went off to run on the bank on the side because it looked to be snowy, not icy. Looks can be deceiving though. It was, like the main path, a sheet of ice and, unlike the main path, on a steep angle. So the moment I went to plant my foot it slipped out from underneath me and I hit the ground rather hard while letting out a very awkward and unreproducible groan. Thankfully I didn't hurt myself, although my left hand was throbbing for the next two miles simply because cold hands don't like slapping a very hard sheets of ice.
